McCain needs more time...

Today, Republican Presidentail nominie, John McCain announced that he wants to push back the first debate with Barack Obama and himself. His reasoning for this is that he thinks the financial crisis in our country should be handeled before the two of them debate. Obama went on record saying that he feels that this debate should go on as schedueled. I feel like Obama is right on this issue. I'm paraphrasing, but he said that one of them is going to be handling these issues in the next 40 days when they become president. It seems like McCain is just trying to gain a little bit more time to prepare himself for this debate.

Here is a link to the issue by the New York Times. Obama Rebuffs McCain's Plan.

Get Drunk...

Get Drunk...

My weekend started on Thursday night. I left Stony Brook and so began my weekend of drinking in Queens. I started off my weekend by going to Cherry Valley in Whitestone, and getting a Zee-Zoo, which is grilled chicken, bacon, onion rings and chesse on a garlic bread hero.

On Friday night, I went to Bell Blvd. and went to a bar called Montahans. At this bar, I witnessed a giant-fat kid fall ontop of a tiny girl on the dance floor. He literally crushed her. On Saturday, my friends and I went to Beer Garden in Astoria.

Obama

I've been following the news on this race since the beginning, but I haven't really been paying too much attention to it in the last week or so. Like I said, I am going to vote for Obama...which reminds me...I have to register here over here in Stony. I do like Biden. Palin is kind of annoying. McCain is a nut. 100 more years in Iraq...thats a little over the top. I really don't have much to say about this election right now. I'll pay more attention soon...but until then...i'll just sit back and have a beer.

Dream Weaver

The NY Mets are collapsing yet again in September. The problem seems to stem from Mr.Clutch, also known as David Wright.

The bullpen is not helping close the gap in tight games played down the stretch.

The road to the White House...

Even as a journalist, its going to be hard to sift through all the news shows, papers, videos, photos and articles of this race. I do read papers daily, and I try to catch CNN when I get back from class...but one can only read or watch so much of this race without getting a little fatigued. I will come out and say that I am going to vote for Obama...I wasn't able to vote for him in the primaries becuase I was here in school and not in queens; where I'm registered. I was recently watching the one on one interview with Bill O'Reilly and Obama.

First off...I can't stand O'Reilly and his asinine comments and questions. He challenges people and cuts them off without even letting them fininsh their statements. Obama did very well in the interview..even with O'Reilly's shouting and annoying questions. Obama seems to have every point covered and is such an amazing speaker that any interview or any debate will definetly work in his favor.

Today...

The day started off great again because I didn't have to use my alarm clock. The late journalism classes usually help. My 310 JRN class was a bit boring, because like most journalism teachers, these two talked about their exciting experiences in the journalism world. The time was about 4:00 p.m. when I got back to the dorm, so I decided to take a power nap. To fall asleep, I drifted in and out of episodes of Seinfeld that I have seen over and over again. When I awoke, I listened to a little Beatles and then headed off for a night class...which is this.
